This announcement underscores Certeon's commitment to enabling high performance, scalable, and cost-efficient WAN infrastructures in support of hosted virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) computing environments. One implementation of desktops as a managed service provides access to centralized, platform-independent desktops via Internet browsers. For the endpoints that are remote to the hosting data center, this means accessing these browser-based resources over a WAN, where high latency can impede application responsiveness and impact user satisfaction. In addition, a number of cloud-based solutions, such as Desktone(R) Desktops as a Service(R) (DaaS(R)), have come into the market to help offset the challenges behind implementing and maintaining hosted VDI infrastructures over the WAN.
